USEFUL BUT WORTHLESS

I love my room for many things: the paint on the wall; my beautiful wallpaper which gives me happy memories anytime I look at it; my table and chair- my place of inspiration; my bed - my wonderful companion that keeps me company all night. Lest I forget my hanger- the pillar that holds my clothes of many colours.

However there's one thing in my room that I’m not proud of and that is my rag which I often use to clean dirt on the floor. Although, it is useful at times but it is worthless. Hence I have relegated it to the background from visitor's view.

In my reflection I discovered that many people like rags, they are useful but worthless. They are used, misused, abused and dumped because there's no value placed on them.
Many employees, slaves, prostitutes, assassins, thugs, hypocrites, lazy and the poor belong to this category who are captives of abject poverty, ignorance, unemployment and pride. The society does not recognize them. Not for who they are but for what they are. These groups of people settle for the crumbs that fall from the rich men's table.
I opine they are not victims of fate, but products of their inner world.

”What you think you become. If you don't have great plans for yourself you'll end up achieving someone else's plan”.

Let me ask you. Are you a rag? Are you useful but worthless? Does your opinion count? Are you ridiculed and not respected? Does your life emit a negative signal to the world? If your answer to any of these questions is yes, you need to
#CHECKYOURSELF and
#CORRECTYOURLIFE.

It's up to you to make your life valuable.

THE POWER OF PRAISE AND WORSHIP

Praise and worship are powerful forces employed for spiritual services. Literally, praise and worship refers to the act of showing admiration and respect to God or gods.

However, I would define praise or worship as a spiritual exercise which involves singing, clapping, dancing, humming, drumming and/or eulogizing in order to evoke the presence or power of a deity and/or his agents.

One important spiritual tool that can be employed in order to connect to the firmament of God’s power speedily is praise or worship. It is the fastest link between God and man especially in times of prayer.

Praise or worship is a powerful tool which, amongst other things, serves the following purposes:
1.     It is the motivating force of every deity
Nothing pleases God more than singing praise or worship to Him. In the Hebrew tongue, praise or worship can be interpreted as Yadah which means to throw out hands unto God in praise. This also means celebrating the acts of God and glorifying His name. When we appreciate God by praising Him for what He’s done, He would not be constrained in doing greater things for us.
After the Israelites were delivered out of the hands of Pharaoh, king of Egypt in Exodus 14, they show forth their gratitude by singing a song unto God who has set them free from bondage of four hundred and thirty years.
Their act of gratitude made God to continue in His promises concerning them even in the wilderness.
The only way to make God regard our words is when we are addicted to praising Him.

“The reason why many are grounded today is because they take God for granted”

2.     It is a soul lifter
James 5 verse 13b says “…is any merry? Let him sing psalms” praise or worship is a divine force which has the potential of removing every burden of the heart thereby making a heart full of joy which in turn activates supernatural strength in our soul.
When faced with divers challenges or having a burden on our soul, the right step to take is to engage in praise or worship.

3.     Medication for divine healing
In 1st Samuel 16:14-23, Saul, the first king of Israel, was tormented by an evil spirit which made him lost consciousness whenever the torment comes.
This was an affliction of Saul’s soul which made him mentally derailed. However, when David, who later became his successor, played instrument of harp and sing praises to God, Saul regained his consciousness.

When you are sick or weak, whether medically or spiritually, the first dose to take is songs of praises or worship to God because He is the God that heals all diseases. Exodus 15:26, Jeremiah 30:17, Isaiah 53:5

4.     Supplement to God’s word Jeremiah 15:16
God’s word is powerful and is able to do the impossible. It is even sharper than any two-edged sword. In Colossians 3:16, the Bible says “Let the word of Christ dwell richly in you…” then in addition to that, it says “… singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord”. While you’re using the word, support it with singing. Not just songs but with spiritual songs.

5.     A yoke-breaking force  Acts 16:25-26
Paul and Silas had been detained in prison for days without trial but at the eve of their ordeal, they switched their mode of communication with God. Prayer had not been working for them probably because they had been praying amiss. When they got the understanding of how powerful praise and worship is, they switched to it. And guess what? It worked this time.

“You can pray amiss but you cannot praise God amiss because He takes it in any form”

6.     Habitation of God
As great as God is, He doesn’t live outside a 'praiseful environment'. God inhabits the praises of His people. Therefore anyone who loves praising God is always qualified as a carrier of divine presence.
The presence of God is the most important thing a Christian must crave for.

“Life outside His presence is full of pestilence”.

Have you ever wondered why the numerous angels in heaven do nothing than to praise Him? That’s because God dwells within our praises.

Learn to always be grateful to God by singing praises unto Him.
